I get a zero count result for a certain PDF file though there is text in

I get a zero count result for a certain PDF file though there is text in it. What's wrong? Please check that the system requirements for Acrobat software are adhered to and this is not a scanned (e.g. a fax) or protected PDF file. If this is a scanned image, you will need to use an OCR software first before you will be able to count the files with MTCount. Besides the file might be protected from copying and text extraction. In this case it cannot be counted as well, you will need to remove the protection first.
It seems the midas.dll library does not install automatically for some reason. Try to close MTCount, unzip the downloaded midas.dll file and put it into the c:\windows\system32\ folder. You might also need to manually register midas.dll. To do this you need to open Start>Run and copy there this text: regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\midas.dll and press OK. After that launch MTCount.
Can MTCount count text in double-byte languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean? MTCount can count texts in double-byte languages under Windows 2000/XP+Word 2000/XP in Word, PowerPoint and Excel files only. However the accuracy may depend on the local settings of your Windows. To make sure MTCount will correctly work with your system you have to download the trial version from http://mtcount.com/download.htm and run it in your system with your files. The trial version is fully functional for 15 days.
Why do I get an error message "Call was rejected by callee" when trying to count a file? This error might occur if you have MS Office 2000 and Norton Antivirus with an office plug-in. Certain inconsistency of MS Office 2000 products with Norton Antivirus 2000 and 2001 is officially recognized by Microsoft and was corrected in the MS Office 2002 (XP).
Resolution To resolve the issue, remove the Norton AntiVirus plug-in for Microsoft Office 2000. To accomplish this, follow the steps below:

I cannot count a WordPerfect file! What is the problem? Please check if MS Word is installed on your computer. The program requires Word to count a WordPerfect file.
